The AI Assistant offers significant utility; however, I seek more granular control over the data it processes.
Not all expenditure categories are equally suitable for sharing. Medical, health, and personal expenses are prominent examples. Based on my review of the category, merchant, and preferences documentation, there does not appear to be a current mechanism for data exclusion.
A four-tiered, per-category and per-merchant setting would address this requirement: "full" (merchant identified), "category only" (category identified, merchant not), "anonymized" (placeholder label), and "hidden" (no label whatsoever).
A critical consideration is that hidden amounts must still contribute to overall totals. Failure to do so would result in an understated representation of actual spending, which is a less desirable outcome than withholding specific details. I have successfully implemented this precise model in my personal ledger, with "category-only" as the default setting.
