OCR on Receipts

The integration of an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature would significantly enhance the efficiency of transaction entry by automating the population of identifiable fields from receipt images.

This functionality would be valuable for both the creation of new transactions and the modification of existing ones, particularly when users possess historical receipts.

Based on prior experience with a localized implementation, the inclusion of OCR has proven highly advantageous. To optimize accuracy, I incorporated gridlines into the camera interface, facilitating straighter image capture and thereby improving text extraction by the OCR engine.
